Whilst searching for suppliers of ostrich and emu eggs for my devilling pleasure, I came across the excellent Clarence Court website which features a 'hen cam'! Imagine my delight to discover that I could watch the hens roaming about! It was also a relief to read that they are 'given everything possible to allow freedom of expression', although that did lead me to expect to see a hen in a beret painting a watercolour, a couple of hens reading poetry to each other and a small chick playing the lute under a tree.
The other delightful discovery was the unique farmyard ring tones - a fabulous selection of chicken-related noises (although some of them do sound suspiciously like Clarence Court employees doing chicken impressions). My personal favourite is 'Happy Chuck' - now there's a chicken enjoying freedom of expression!
